Wichita's Galichia Medical Group Agrees to Pay $1.3 Million Over Medicare Claims

Aug 26, 2008

Wichita cardiologist Jospeh Gaichia and Calichia Medical Group have agreed to pay $1.3 million to settle claims that they violated the federal False Claims Act, the U.S. Justice Department reported.

The Justice Department contends that Galichia and his medical group submitted false claims to Medicare, the federal program that provides health coverage for older Americans. It says that between 2001 and 2006, claims were submitted for services not provided or without proper documentation.
